I got a friend in Kansas who's gonna be in the Atlanta area in February for a job interview, and he asked me to see if I knew anyone who would put him up for a night or two while he was here. If you or anybody you know wouldn't mind letting a random person stay in your house, hit me up. I'm gonna post his message he sent me here, so I don't mess anything up as far as specifics:
...I'm writing to let you know I'm coming to Atlanta for 3 days: Feb 4-6, for an interview for the Foreign Service... working in a US embassy somewhere in the world. Since my job search has dragged on longer than I expected, I really want to pinch my pennies. Do you know anyone close to Atlanta who might be willing to put a cool dude like me up for 2 nights?
Any advice you have would be great to hear. Please and thank you, Kyle
Obligatory (but unprofound) New Year's post for 2009
I got into a "what did I write about on this thing a year ago?" mood and found my "obligatory New Year's post" from last year (written a year ago today). A couple of paragraphs in it made me LOL. And then I went back and read them again, and LOLed again.
Soooooo...last year, some fun stuff happened, and some not-so-fun stuff happened. I didn't get fired or get in two car wrecks like I did the year before, so that's something. I excelled at my job and paid all my bills on time. I had a pretty wretched summer, but made up for it a few months later. I don't suppose I'd go back and change anything.
After reading my resolutions from last year, I guess I kept up with them for the most part (well, I skipped out of taekwondo the last two months of the year because I got really busy at work and decided I wanted to spend my spare time with the [then-new] boyfriend...I'm gonna do better this year; I promise!!!). I know how to cook a lot more stuff than I did this time last year, so yay. I suppose my resolutions for this year are just to not fail at grad school and my job and whatnot.
Oh, and I also found this thing, which is now apparently almost three years old according to the date. The current S.O. fits most of them (and a couple we've already talked about, so no worries there). Huzzah!!
Ok, must leave for work in four minutes, so must brush teeth now...
1) finished the first season of Lost (I'm addicted) 2) played Wii 3) built a blanket fort. (It was the best 2 minutes of our lives.) 4) Got REEEEEEEALLY silly (alien lizard spider monkeys, deformed babies, the 72 virgins waiting for terrorists after they blow themselves up, and gratuitous use of the phrase "blanket fort") 5) had a serious conversation.
So I made a CD for a friend for Christmas. And I liked it so much that I recreated it on Project Playlist so that I could share it with all. You're welcome.
