I keep meaning to blog again. but I never have time or remember. Well, I've got time now. Perhaps a retrospective of my year would be apropos, what with the new one just starting and all that. Doesn't really feel like a new year though, my year starts in august, and probably will forever. Nonetheless.

It doesn't seem that I did all that much last year. I was teaching from January to June, with a few brief breaks- skiing in CO in feb, sightseeing in DC in april. I really enjoyed DC. I will definitely be heading back there someday. The cherry blossoms were beautiful, and history has always been something that has interested me. I learned so much. In June, Dan and I took a vacation up to the Pacific Northwest. We spent time in Seattle, the oregon coast and Portland. I discovered I like kites, and Dan was fascinated by tide-pools. We had a wonderful time. In July, I headed across country in my new car- a cute little Pontiac Vibe- fire engine red! I drove across the CA desert and straight across AZ to spend a few days in New Mexico with my brother, his wife Laura and their beloved pugs. After that, headed north to CO to spend a few weeks with my parents. I enjoyed my time there, but perhaps this summer, I'll spend a little shorter time in CO and longer in NM. I may even end up taking a class in Albuquerque. Then school started up, and I was back to the grind, hitting it very hard until December 20, with a much needed and very short break for Thanksgiving. I was actually able to fly home for the first time in 3 or 4 years. I flew home for Christmas break too, and will be heading back to CA tomorrow.

Reading back, I guess I did do quite a few things, but they were all centered around my vacation from school. Teaching... is teaching. There are bad things, and there are good things. Some days, I wonder if I could quit the next week, and other days, I love it. I just wish I had a job where I never had to hold class on the lawn.

Voted

but not for Mccain or Obama. Can't stand either of them. Socialist or giant prick... ugh. I did vote yes on 2 and no on 8. If 8 passes I will have lost all hope in humanity.
